Proverbs 3:5-6
“Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.”
“In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.”
We believe that God is triune and is eternally existent in three persons of same substance God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit.
We believe that God has specifically revealed Himself to us through the Bible, both Old and New Testaments, and that they are inspired, inerrant and infallible.
We believe in the deity, virgin birth and sinless perfection of Jesus, the Christ (Messiah sent from God).
We believe in the bodily resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead and in His visible, personal and premillennial return. Likewise, at the appointed time all believers will be raised to new life.
We believe that mankind is by nature self-oriented (selfish) and by choice sinful. We as sinners are separated from God and responsible for our sins.
We believe that salvation is available to all people and that it is completely by grace through faith alone in Jesus Christ. The conditions of salvation are as follows: recognition of personal sin; repentance (turning) from sin; and belief in, invitation to, and confession of Jesus Christ as both Lord and Savior. Thus, our righteous standing before God is not a matter of our so-called "goodness" or the things we have done, but only a result of our position before God in the merit and favor of the Righteous One, Jesus Christ.
We believe in the everlasting conscious blessedness of the saved (heaven) and in the everlasting conscious punishment of the lost (hell).
We believe that the only true basis of Christian fellowship (Church) is God's agape love, which is greater than any differences we possess and without which we have no right to claim ourselves Christians.
Finally, we believe that Jesus left two ordinances to be observed by His bride, the Church: believer's baptism and the Lord's Supper.
We receive all believers who identify themselves with us as fellow members of the Body of Christ, the Church. (Col. 1:18).
In order to become a member of the Church, we ask that you give testimony of your belief in the following ways:
(1.) You should make a personal and public profession of your faith in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior (Rom. 10:9-13); and
(2.) You should have experienced or be willing to receive believer's baptism. (Matt. 28: 19-20)
If you are a member in good standing from a church of like faith and practice you may simply transfer your church letter, thus identifying with those God has placed for service here at Bayo Vista First Baptist Church. You are further invited to express your membership in the body of Christ by partaking of the Lord' s Supper. Attendance and participation in the Lord's Supper is free and open to anyone who desires to come with the condition of Scripture that each person should examine himself/herself before partaking.
